Stories abound of the child who grows up to be a bully, or stupid, or obnoxious, because those around him or her kept saying they were ... and they believed it, acted it, and became it. Stories also abound of the millionaires who believed they could achieve their goals, spoke encouraging things, and surrounded themselves with prosperous people --- and became what they said. What was sown eventually was harvested.

God's Word verifies this. Over and over and over, the Holy Spirit tells us we CAN --- or CAN'T --- depending on the seed we sow into our own ears, place before our eyes, believe in our heart then speak through our mouths. Bad seed, bad crop. Good seed, good crop. Our choice.

And not just for ourselves, but also for those we love, mentor, have relationship with. THERE IS NO REASON UNDER THE SUN A PARENT SHOULD EVER CALL HIS OR HER CHILD STUPID. They hear - and strive to please - even a dysfunctional parent, and God will hold us all accountable for the words of our mouth, the seeds we plant.

Dwell on Roman's 12 for awhile. It has tons of great stuff for us to do, to think, to incorporate into our lives to produce the godly harvest both in ourselves and in all we have contact with. Meditate on the Word --- dwell on it and let it simmer in your spirit. The words you speak, and the crop you produce, will reflect the time and enthusiasm you take to get it down inside you. Like regular seed, what you plant, water, and nurture determines what you will see coming to fullness in your life.
