A dear friend of mine wanted this verse for a counselling group she belonged to. You see, along the way of life, she had been hurt, and hurt badly. And though she was born again, and a new created being through Christ Jesus, like most of us who have been hurt, she would find herself in situations where the hurt would come up first, not the new creation. And that kept causing all kinds of problems

She needed to renew her mind in God's sweet Word. She needed His reassurance that THAT was then, and THIS is now. That, in Christ, she was NO LONGER that person who reacted according to the hurt and pain, who spoke out of rejection, who lashed back out of anger and frustration; but a daughter of Christ, healed, whole, able to minister to others coming out of the same mess.

Darkness to light, He brings us out; lifts us out of the miry clay and sets our feet on solid ground ... if we will trust Him ... He makes all things - ME! - new. Oh! Thank you, Jesus!!
